IFPTE Opposes the Taxation of Healthcare Benefits
In a joint letter to the House, IFPTE along with several other unions, expressed strong opposition to any proposal that would pay for healthcare reform by altering the tax treatment of employer provided healthcare.(7/2/09)


Local 195 Members Ratify Contract
Local 195, after extensive negotiations with the State of New Jersey, has ratified their contract with a 70% margin.(7/1/09)
Labor Needs to be Involved in DoD Acquisitions Review Process
President Junemann sent a letter to Defense Secretary Gates urging labor’s inclusion in the DoD acquisition review process. Given the union’s dense private sector membership in the defense industry, IFPTE believes there is a valuable role for workers to play in providing decisionmakers with their unique perspective regarding those technologies that work versus those that are unproven. IFPTE Urges Support of Single Payer Health Care System
As Congress continues to craft legislation aimed at overhauling our nation’s health care system, IFPTE President Junemann sent a letter to key House members asking that, “at the very least, you include language to allow individual States to implement single payer health care systems if they so choose.” (6/29/09)
NSPS Comments submitted to Defense Business Board
As the Defense Business Board NSPS Review Team holds public hearings on June 25th and 26th in Roslyn, VA, IFPTE provided comments advising for the complete repeal of NSPS. (6/25/09)

IFPTE Urges Senate to Support HR 1256
Bipartisan Amendment Corrects Non-Foreign Area COLA
IFPTE authored a letter to the full Senate urging their support for HR 1256, the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act, legislation that contains language important to the retirement savings of federal workers. (6/3/09)
